This year I have a partner joining me on this amazing adventure. We are taking on this journey together…. No, not because we can, well I suppose because we can BUT because we are absolutely nuts about riding our bikes! And better yet, because we are BEST friends.

 

The best part of riding with Conrad this year, is that he can also join in the excitement building up from now until the very last uphill. Oh yes, and there will be a few uphill’s, tougher-er than you can imagine.

 

But before we start packing our bags and getting on our bikes, there is something we need to share with you…. 

Joberg2C is not only about the ride but also about making a difference. They have teamed up with the Nelson Mandela Day project in an effort to raise funds to deliver libraries to impoverished schools located along the race route. These libraries are fully functional units which provide the opportunity for these local kids to learn how to read confidently, to discover new worlds through the magic of books and to let their imagination fly over mountains to dream of bigger and better things to come. Research has shown that children going to a school with a good established library, have a better chance of  finishing school and taking on a journey to better themselves

 

We believe that together we can complete this wonderful adventure and we would appreciate it if you can support us by making a donation, big or small, for this fantastic initiative.

 

It means a lot to Conrad and I, and even more to those South-African kiddies who will get the chance to a better life!
